2020, Supply of Segment Molds for Cross River Rail Project, Brisbane, Australia

The Cross River Rail Project in Brisbane is a pivotal infrastructure development aimed at upgrading the city’s rail network to meet growing demand and improve transport capacity. With its origins dating back to 2010, the project has evolved through several stages, ultimately replacing earlier proposals like the BaT Tunnel. The project involves a 10.2 km rail line, with 5.9 km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and the city center. It will feature new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street, and Roma Street, transforming Brisbane’s public transportation network.

For this project, Unicrane has supplied 9 sets of universal ring molds (OD 6.93m x 1.7m x 0.28m, 7p/r). These molds are essential for producing the high-quality tunnel segments needed for the construction of the twin tunnels, ensuring their durability and structural integrity to support the city's future growth and transportation needs. The Cross River Rail project, which began construction in September 2017, is a key step toward modernizing Brisbane's infrastructure and supporting its expanding population.
