The Gudauri Tunnel is a key part of the Kvesheti-Kobi (KK) Highway project, a major infrastructure initiative designed to improve the connection between the northern and southern regions of Georgia. Spanning 8.86 kilometers, the Gudauri Tunnel is the largest single infrastructure project in the country and a vital component of Georgia's North-South Corridor. The tunnel aims to enhance road safety, reduce travel times, and improve the overall efficiency of the country's transportation system.
For this project, Unicrane has supplied 4 sets of universal ring molds (OD 14.4m x 2m x 0.5m, 10p/r) for this monumental project. These molds are essential for the production of the large-diameter tunnel segments required for the construction of the Gudauri Tunnel. The tunnel, which reaches a maximum depth of over 1,100 meters, will be constructed using advanced tunnel boring machine (TBM) technology. This project is not only a significant milestone for Georgia’s infrastructure development but also an example of cutting-edge tunneling technology in large-scale projects.
